Data Engineer (35360)

At VFS LATAM, this professional will support the Data & AI journey across Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Peru, developing scalable data solutions for the regional Data Platform, Data Lake, analytics, AI initiatives, and strategic business KPIs. What you will do: • Develop and maintain data pipelines and integrations across multiple systems and markets; • Support the evolution of the Azure-based Data Platform and Data Lake; • Ensure data quality, reliability, governance, and operational stability; • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data; • Partner with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Business Teams, and Global Data teams to enable analytics and AI solutions; • Support strategic data products, dashboards, reporting, and predictive initiatives; • Contribute to automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of data engineering practices, including AI-assisted development tools. Essential requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or related fields; • Experience with data pipelines and data integration solutions; • Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases; • Experience with ETL/ELT development and pipeline orchestration; • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure; • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar; • Knowledge of data modeling, data quality, and data governance; • Advanced English for communication in an international environment; • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Nice to have: • Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Fabric, or similar platforms; • Python, Spark, or other data engineering technologies; • Experience supporting AI, Machine Learning, or Generative AI initiatives; • Experience in financial services, banking, insurance, or leasing; • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices; • Experience in multinational and multicultural environments.
