About

This business unit is a people transportation software company headquartered in Latin America and part of the global Modaxo collective. Our technology connects communities through innovative solutions that optimize urban mobility, improve the operational efficiency of transportation operators, and make daily commuting more accessible for millions of people across the region.

As a Modaxo company, Empresa 1 operates with the autonomy of a focused and purpose-driven business, backed by the strength of a global network comprising more than 33 brands in over 35 countries. We are part of an ambitious collective mission: to move one billion people every day by 2030.

"At Modaxo we trust the teams and leaders we acquire, empowering them through financial support, autonomy, and learning opportunities." (Modaxo)

The Opportunity

Empresa 1 is looking for a General Manager with strategic vision, hands-on execution, and operational excellence, with a passion for leadership to take the business to the next level of growth across the LATAM region. This is a high-responsibility role for a leader who can combine rigorous business management with the ability to inspire teams, cultivate lasting client relationships, and operate with the agility that the Latin American market demands.

In the Modaxo model, the General Manager operates with genuine autonomy: you are ultimately accountable for business results. At the same time, you will have the support of a peer network of leaders from more than 30 transportation software companies worldwide, a dedicated finance team, and an incentive model aligned with long-term success.

"Good enough" is never enough. We are looking for someone who sees challenges as opportunities and leads with both data and empathy.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & P&L

• Take full P&L responsibility for Empresa1, focusing on revenue growth, profitability, and client retention

• Define and execute the annual strategic plan in alignment with Modaxo LATAM objectives, identifying organic growth opportunities and new markets within the region

• Analyze financial and operational performance with rigor, establishing clear metrics and making data-driven decisions

• Report results, progress, and challenges to the Portfolio Leader with transparency and executive judgment

Commercial Management & Client Relations

• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key Empresa 1 clients in LATAM, serving as the executive face of the business

• Oversee sales and account management functions to ensure sustained growth of the client portfolio

• Identify and develop expansion opportunities with existing clients (upsell, cross-sell) and new prospects

• Position Empresa 1 as the go-to technology partner for transportation operators in LATAM

Team Development

• Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent, creating a culture where continuous learning, accountability, and collaboration are the norm

• Act as mentor and coach to the direct leadership team, promoting clear career paths and growth opportunities within Empresa 1 and the Modaxo ecosystem

• Build a work environment where teams feel challenged, valued, and aligned with the company purpose.

• Foster the Modaxo culture: purposeful work, lifelong learning, and the conviction that we win together when working toward a shared vision

Operational Excellence

• Ensure the delivery of Empresa 1's services and products to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction

• Drive continuous process improvement across functional areas: product, R&D, support, and operations

• Ensure regulatory and corporate governance compliance as required by markets across the region

• Establish planning and monitoring cycles that enable proactive risk management and agile decision-making

Participation in the Modaxo Network

• Actively participate in the global network of General Managers and functional leaders at Modaxo, sharing learnings and adopting best practices from the collective

• Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, leadership summits, and development programs driven by Modaxo

• Represent Empresa 1 with pride within the Modaxo ecosystem, bringing the LATAM perspective to the global group

Candidate Profile

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in leadership roles at software, technology, or B2B services companies, with at least 3 years in a general management or equivalent position with P&L responsibility

• Proven track record of growing businesses in LATAM markets: deep understanding of the region's economic, cultural, and regulatory contexts

• Experience in transportation, mobility, or infrastructure industries is a significant differentiator

• Experience managing cross-functional teams distributed across different countries or cultures

Leadership & Management Skills

• Ability to read and manage a P&L with sound financial acumen: understanding of recurring revenue, churn, margins, and SaaS or mission-critical software metrics

• Ability to make decisions with incomplete information, acting with speed and accountability

• Clear and effective executive communication in both Portuguese and English (Spanish is a plus)

• Ability to influence without formal authority, building internal and external alliances

The Modaxo Profile

Beyond the resume, we are looking for someone who embodies the way Modaxo leaders think and act:

• "Good enough" is not enough. You set the standard and sustain it by example

• You learn continuously and share generously. Knowledge is not a competitive advantage to hoard; it is a resource to multiply

• You lead with purpose. You care about the impact of your work on the communities and people you move

• You build for the long term. You make decisions with the sustainability of the business in mind, not just the quarter

• You are comfortable with autonomy and accountability. You don't wait to be told what to do; you propose, execute, and learn from the outcome

• You are a people leader before a process manager. You know that the greatest multiplier of any business is a committed and growing team
